Definition:

The irritation of the sciatic nerve from the spinal nerve roots in the lumbar spine due to different reasons of spinal degeneration or disc herniation.

Symptom:

This irritation in the sciatic nerve results into pain and inflammation which goes down the legs and the buttocks and sometimes reaching the foot.

Cause:

Piriformis syndrome and problems from discs are causes of sciatica.
